Ministries

Alpha Center	The Alpha Center is a ministry of Sherwood to reach out to women of all ages and from all walks of life, who may be pregnant and are possibly facing difficult decisions.

Children	The Purpose of the Summit Children's Ministry is to partner with parents to train up our children to CLIMB: Choose Christ, Love Christ, Imitate Christ, Meet with Christ Daily, and Be the Body of Christ.

College	The Purpose of the College department is to reach out to the college students of South Georgia and encourage them to interact with the church body while growing in their walk with Christ.

Media	God has blessed Sherwood with incredible opportunities to reach those in our community and beyond with the messages of hope, encouragement, and the truth of God's Word. Lives are being changed as we minister beyond the walls of our church through television, radio, and motion pictures.

Men	Pastor Michael Catt is inviting men who are serious about going to the next level in their personal lives and as leaders to join him in the Ron Dunn Center. The official name of the group is "The Sequoia Men's Club." No coat is required, but come prepared to listen and learn. You will study a variety of topics from : Leadership, How to Study the Bible, How to Handle Conflict and More...

Missions	"And you shall be My witness both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the outermost part of the earth," Acts 1:8. Sherwood missions involves a well rounded approach to reaching people in our community and touching people around the world.

Prayer	Prayer is our first line of defense and our line of attack. It is in the realm of prayer that battles will be won or lost, souls will be confronted with the awesome salvation provided through Jesus Christ, and that unity, power, love, and Christ-likeness will be achieved.

Preschool	The mission of the Preschool Ministry is to plant seeds of faith through Bible stories that come alive in age appropriate activities.
Sherwood Christian Academy	The mission of Sherwood Christian Academy is to assist Christian parents in obeying the Biblical instruction to bring up their children in the training and nurturing of the Lord. SCA provides an excellent academic education integrated with a Christian view of God and the world based on the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God.

Senior Adults	Caring and nurturing every senior adult. Includes Sunday morning Bible studies, fellowships, events and trips.

Single Adults	The mission of N'Fuzion Class is to equip single adults for healthy spiritual growth through discipleship, fellowship, prayer, worship, and witnessing.

Sports and Recreation	The Sports and Recreation Ministry of Sherwood Baptist consists of a facility, staff, and programs to achieve the following purposes: To be a ministry "beyond the sanctuary." To build fellowship among the membership. To break down racial, social, and economical barriers. To help reach the unsaved and connect them to the church. To improve the physical, mental, and spiritual health of an individual. To involve those who look to serve in the sports and recreational ministry. To provide unity among families and a family friendly atmosphere. To bring Glory to God in all we do.

Students	The Impact Student Ministry supports Sherwood’s mission, vision and purpose by encouraging students and student workers to INVITE nonbelievers to experience a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, to INTERACT with a church family, to IGNITE their lives in worship to the Lord, to IMPRINT God's Word on their hearts and in their minds, and to IMPACT the world for Christ in their homes, schools, community, state, nation, and in other countries.

Women	The Sherwood Women's Ministry encourages women to "choose the best part" amidst the plethora of options they face in their daily lives. When Jesus enters the home of Mary and Martha, Martha busies herself in the kitchen while Mary sits at Christ's feet. Jesus says, "But one thing is necessary. Mary hath chosen the best part, which shall not be taken away from her" (Luke 10:42).
Worship	Our objective is to use music as a tool to reach multiple generations of people; sharing the gospel, and giving those who are willing and opportunity to develop and use their gifts to lead in the worship and adoration of Jesus Christ.
