The Sherwood Media Ministry exists to reach the whole world, with the whole Word, motivated by a passion for Christ and
compassion for all people.
God has blessed Sherwood with incredible opportunities to reach those in our community and beyond with the messages of hope, encouragement, and the truth of God's Word. Lives are being changed as we minister beyond the walls of our church through television, radio, and motion pictures.
  
THE SHERWOOD CHANNEL
 The Sherwood Channel, Mediacom's channel 15 in Albany, is an award winning 24 hour a day Christian television station operating out of
Sherwood
Baptist
Church. Reaching approximately 50,000 homes, we broadcast our worship services as well as numerous original programs during the week. In addition, we present several special programs and concerts throughout the year. The Sherwood Channel is also an affiliate of Family Net and Faith TV, which provides additional quality programming each day. Our original programs include; Path to Truth - our weekly worship service with Pastor Michael Catt (also seen on Faith TV), Home Connection - a Bible Study talk show with Alex Kendrick and Ross Powell, Walking in the Light - with messages from Pastor Daniel Simmons. Current program schedules can be found in the Communicator or the Albany Herald.
 SHERWOOD PICTURES
In 2003, Sherwood Pictures premiered its first full length motion picture, Flywheel, in three theaters in south Georgia. It aired on numerous Christian television networks around the world including TBN, Family Net, INSP, Faith TV, and Cornerstone TV, and has sold approximately 200,000 DVDs to date. The thousands of letters, e-mails, and phone calls from viewers has made this a powerful new avenue of ministry for the church.
In 2006, Sherwood produced its second feature, Facing the Giants, which was picked up by Provident Films (a Sony company) and released September 29th 2006 in 441 theaters nationwide. The movie expanded to include 1,010 theaters by the end of it's 17 week run. Over 1.5 million DVDs were sold in 56 countries and 13 languages. To date, almost 7,000 decisions for Christ have been reported.
Sherwood's third movie, Fireproof, was released nationwide in over 800 theaters on September 26, 2008. The Love Dare, written by Alex & Stephen Kendrick and featured in the film Fireproof, has topped The New York Times Best Seller Paperback Advice list. God has amazed and blessed us with results that only He could have orchestrated. May He get the glory!
