Sherwood Christian Academy is located on two campuses: the Lower Campus consists of K-5th grade and the Upper Campus consists of 6th-12th grade.
The mission of Sherwood Christian Academy is to assist Christian parents in obeying the Biblical instruction to bring up their children in the training and nurturing of the Lord. SCA provides an excellent academic education integrated with a Christian view of God and the world based on the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God.
The School seeks...
- to teach the Bible as the authoritative and infallible foundation for all life. Bible classes and chapel services are mandatory and part of the student's course of study.
- to lead the students to a decision of confessing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
- to develop a desire to learn and obey the will of God as revealed in the Scripture.
- to teach the importance of the Christian's place in the church.
- to provide Christian growth by teaching that the Christian life depends upon fellowship with God through prayer, Bible study and service to mankind.
Accreditation
Sherwood Christian Academy is accredited by the Georgia Accrediting Commission. It is also a member of the Georgia Independent School Association.
Sherwood features A Beka curriculum in classes K-4 through Grade 12. Students are offered a variety of educational opportunities including computer classes, math and science labs, and foreign languages.
The low faculty/student ratio allows for greater interaction between the instructor and student. The Physical Education/Athletic Department offers the student the competitive environment to engage in a full range of activities: football, cheerleading, girls' and boys' basketball, girls' softball, baseball, soccer, track, tennis and golf.
The faculty all hold a minimum of a Bachelor's degree with many having advanced degrees. Inservice training is conducted on a regular basis for all Sherwood Staff.
