The Biblical Counseling Center focus for 2008 is to point people to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Its goal is to teach and to disciple individuals to be Biblical in their response to life expectations and relationship issues. Homework is given to help move individuals towards healing and accountability.
From June to November 2007, there were a total of 294 appointments with 390 people coming (client hours). Included were repeat sessions, couples who received counseling as well as children with parents. There are approximately fifteen churches represented and two churches have pledged yearly support to the Biblical Counseling Center. There have been several individuals who trusted Christ as Savior and five have been baptized. Praise the Lord!
As of summer 2008, there will be three additional, trained counselors who will volunteer their time to Biblical Counseling. Additional staffing will allow for the increasing number of clients and provide more opportunities to impact our community for Christ.
I urge you to pray for this ministry. Pray that the Lord will continue to guide its leaders and give them the focus they need to take this ministry beyond the walls of the church.
